Studies with Stearman: The Life Changing Words of the Philippian Jailor

November 22, 2020

None of us have had a Damascus Road experience like the Apostle Paul. His life was marked by trials, severe persecutions and ultimately a beheading. As he wrote the book of Phiippians from a jail cell, we have to be in awe at his joy and commitment to the Gospel of Jesus Christ. He referenced The Day of Christ” three times in the first chapter of this prison epistle. It was his motivation to keep going strong, knowing a better day was just ahead. For us, that’s the rapture! The human experience is characterized by a non-stop string of emotions … tears, anger, sadness, love, joy … how could Paul possibly be joyful given his circumstances? Perhaps the words of the Philippian jailor, whose life he saved, made it all worthwhile … “what must I do to be saved?” Join Gary Stearman as he looks at the life of Paul and how we can all develop the proper pattern for Christian living, despite our ever-changing personal circumstances and the whirlwind of confusion, destruction and suffering we see all around us. This is a message of Christian maturity and Godly, purposeful living at its very best. We all are eagerly awaiting the rapture, but there is still work to be done! Let’s finish strong!
