Dennis Avi Lipkin, was born in Flushing, NY and grew up in the NYC metro area, moving to Israel in 1968 at age 19. Avi attended New York University, majoring in Sovietology, finishing later in Spanish/Latin American studies at Hebrew University. Avi served in various IDF roles (active duty & reserves) from 1972 to 2001. He has worked in international business, served the Likud party and was for a time, senior editor/translator in the Government Press Office. Since 1990, Avi has appeared in over 1,000 churches, synagogues and civic groups, in the US, Canada, Mexico, UK, Norway, Finland, Holland, Belgium, Switzerland, Greece, as well as in Israel. Avi is married to Rachel, who moved to Israel from Egypt in 1969. Fluent in Arabic, she has worked for Israel’s Radio service, monitoring Arabic-language broadcasts on radio, TV, newspapers and new websites. Avi and Rachel have two sons, Aaron and Jacob as well as 9 grandchildren.
