Daniel’s Prophecy of the 70 Weeks
by Alva J. McClain
The brief but well-known prophecy of the Seventy Weeks recorded in Daniel 9:24-27 has always been a focus of interest to scholar’s of God’s Word and eschatology. In a short, but important work, McClain introduces the first 69 weeks and answers questions such as, “What is the measure of time indicated by the “weeks” of this prophecy? And when did the whole period of the seventy weeks begin?”
Continuing with a discussion of the parenthesis of time between the 69th and the 70th weeks, he concludes with an exposition of the 70th week and the coming of the Roman Prince.
The author boldy declares, “I am convinced that in the predictions of the Seventy Weeks, we have the indispensable chronological key to all New Testament prophecy.”
