It’s a humbling experience learning to depend on the Lord for your future. We all want God’s will for our lives. We’ve all witnessed His guiding hand intervening in our lives, sometimes (all too often!) at the very last minute. Gary, Mondo and I often watch in amazement as we watch Jesus move in the hearts of men to support the work here. Well, He’s at it again! This time through a generous, $100,000 matching gift opportunity! We have an opportunity to retire the debt on our headquarters once and for all!

I think back to the early days of our ministry when we stepped out on faith with next to nothing in the way of resources. It was the ultimate example of trusting the Lord, knowing that launching a ministry from scratch is not something to approach without understanding the risks of failure. We poured our hearts into this new ministry we named “Prophecy Watchers,” trusting the Lord for His blessing and His provision. And 8 years later He has brought us through those early growing pains with flying colors!

But the best is yet to come!

There have been many people who reached out and given Him (and us) a hand. It began with a shocking, late night text all the way from the other side of the world. It included a pledge to provide seed money for our new fledgling ministry from a “man from the east.” $100,000 worth of seeds to be exact!! That seed has certainly sprouted and taken on a life of its own as we’ve seen Prophecy Watchers reach out to the four corners of the world.

This unexpected gift enabled us to go on television from Day 1, acquire TV cameras and computers, hire a video editor and purchase our first small building. God had a plan and He used this man to bring it to pass.

Well, God has done it again. He’s moved in the hearts of another long time Prophecy Watcher viewer to help us do something we never thought would be possible 3 years ago … retiring the debt on the miracle building He provided for us. That 13,000 SF building, the former Oklahoma City studios and headquarters of the Trinity Broadcasting Network, now houses 3 television studios, our new podcast studio, a green screen studio, offices for our entire staff and video department, massive storage, our customer service department, our shipping department and a conference room. It’s everything we ever dreamed of. AND, it comes with land for future expansion! God isn’t finished here quite yet.

Trinity was gracious in allowing us time to acquire their headquarters. Thousands of friends pitched in to help us raise 70% of the funds needed to purchase the building, leaving us with a manageable mortgage with a local bank. But nothing would make us happier than making Prophecy Watchers debt free.

Thanks to another $100,000 “matching gift,” God has brought us close to the dream of retiring the ministry’s mortgage and focusing our efforts on continuing to grow the ministry’s outreach. If we’re able to match the generous $100,000 donation, we’ll have enough money to pay off the mortgage and move on to our next dream … the launch of a new radio ministry! And perhaps a publishing company! As I said, God isn’t finished with Prophecy Watchers.

I go back to the words of Gary Stearman on our first broadcast, shot in his family room with one tiny camera that would shut off after 12 minutes of recording due to overheating. “Bob, I haven’t retired, I haven’t been resting, I’ve been making big plans.” Of course God was the one making those big plans for us and then bringing those plans to fruition. He put this ministry on our hearts. It belongs to HIm. We are only caretakers of Prophecy Watchers. Are we living in the last days? We believe we are. None of us knows how long we have left on this Earth, but whatever time God allows us, we want to spend it sharing the Good News and telling people that Jesus is coming soon. Friends don’t let friends go through the Tribulation!
